We have many success stories!  KidsCan! is one of various role players that contributes to our children’s development.  We celebrate their successes!

It was a very exciting wroom-wroom-day when in January, 40 bikers filled the street at the 10th Avenue KidsCan! Centre.  These caring bikers pulled their resources together and delivered much needed stationary for 2022 to KidsCan!.  Thank you to volunteers Peter & Estelle Powell for tapping into their network to make this happen.

At the end of every year, we award our children for their outstanding achievements & for doing their best during the year, not only academically but also in terms of life skills.

With the help of our supporters we are able to put together a Christmas gift pack for each child to take home.

The children performed music and sang songs for the parents, staff & volunteers who attended this special event.

  • Four class assistents worked at KidsCan! as part of the EPWP (Economic Public Works Programme).  We appointed one of them, Naomi Visser, as a permanent KidsCan! staff member & Cristal Plaatjies in a part-time capacity.
  • One of our previous learners is now a qualified Social Worker, another works as a teller at a bank & others work at various businesses in Kleinmond and surrounding areas.

KidsCan! received Green Status from the Department of Social Development.

  • There are 91 After School Care Centres in the Western Cape.
  • 87 were audited.
  • Only 16 received Green Status!

This is the highest grading awarded by the Department of Social Development, making KidsCan! a frontrunner project and NPO in the Western Cape.
